Nigeria, Malaysia clash in men’s table tennis quarterfinal

Nigeria’s men table tennis team will face Malaysia in the quarterfinal match of the ongoing 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

As the leading team in Group 2, Nigeria will face second placed team in group 4 which is Malaysia in a repeat of what happened in 2018 in Gold Coast.

In 2018, Nigeria prevailed and this time, the team is a mixture of experience and youthfulness with Quadri Aruna leading the charge for the African team.

The match is scheduled for 9:30am on Sunday July 31 at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.

 England’s Alex Yee wins first gold in Birmingham

In other matches, India will take on Bangladeshi while England will take on Cyprus.

The last quarterfinal is between Singapore and Canada.

The winner between Nigeria and Malaysia will face winner between India and Bangladesh in the semifinal.

The winner England and Cyprus will confront the winner between Singapore and Canada.

The women’s semifinal will hold later as well.
