‘Motherland’ is spiced by harmonious horns that pay tribute to afrobeat, a major influence on Sound Sultan, and Töme gave a perfect rendition while Bankulli provides a sturdy base to balance her rhythm.
Bankulli expressed that all the proceeds generated from the record, which was released on Sound Sultan’s posthumous birthday, will be donated to his family, as the song is a tribute to him.
Sound Sultan died in August 202 leaving a great gap in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
